I purchased N85DW, 2021 P2008T with about 175 hrs, a little over two months ago. I’ve owned a Skycatcher for 12 years and was ready for something else. The P2008T is definitely an upgrade. The plane is much more comfortable and unlike the Skycatcher is a true cross country platform.
I had a few minor issues that were easily corrected. The audio panel was not integrated with the G3X touch. It was not placed on the Garmin CAN bus during initial installation. I have not read where this is a common issue, but the remedy was just one wire tied into the bus. It is now integrated and I can enjoy satellite radio during flight and all of the other features of the Garmin 245.
A second issue was I could not advance the throttle past the ident without redlining the RPM on takeoff and could only have 3/4 throttle on cruise without doing the same. I was getting an TAS of 110 kph. After repitching the prop to 5, that issue was resolved. I am now getting a TAS of 125 kph at 3500 feet at WOT while still climbing at 800 fpm.
The airplane is a joy to fly. It has a GPS 175 and flying a RNAV coupled approach is amazing. The hardest part of the transition is learning all the G3X touch features. It can do so much more than the G300. The 162’s G300 software could not be updated thanks to Cessna not allowing any updates. My other issue is getting the plane to slow down in the pattern (not an issue with the Skycatcher).
Overall, I am very happy with the transition. I should have made the leap sooner

There is an LOA authorization to use a little less than half flaps anywhere in the green arc. That will slow the plane down quickly. Not sure what engine you have but even with a 912ULS you should be able to do 110kts. 914ULS will do 125kts. Ed

Thanks for the info on flaps. Was able to search the forum and find a link to the LOA. This should help immensely

Please share the link to the flaps LOA. I also am a newbie and am having trouble slowing the plane down in the pattern. Even had to do a go around a couple times. These planes love to float.

What a difference using 1/2 flaps anywhere in green arc makes. Was able to slow down easily. Thanks again for the tip!

Great to hear / the flaps on the 2008 are VERY effective. O fly mostly instrument approaches and carry 120+ until 2 miles out from the FAF and then 1/2 flaps and slow to 90 and carry 90 until minimums. At that point, full flaps and it’s almost impossible to carry more than 70. Works really well.

The Tecnam document dated June 2014 seems to give authorization for "Take Off Flaps" 15 degrees, at any point within the Green Arc. All other deployments (landing flaps??) must be done as directed within the AFM for each Tecnam light sport aircraft.
That's what I understand it to say. Sure don't want to see anyone over stress the plane if that's the case.
