Just got off the phone with Shannon - he sold an Astore to someone in Atlanta and it will be based at my home field. Hopefully the Owner will find his way to Tecnam Talk. Can't wait to see it.

I was in Sebring yesterday and met him. I think his name is Tony. He was in the process of getting checked out. It is an all white Astore with a 912_IS engine. Two big beautiful Garmin touch screens. I don't think he knows Flocker.

Tony Harwood here. Yes I did pick up my Astore last week and enjoyed a few days flying around Sebring and up to St Pete and Brooksville. The autopilot needs service so I have left it in Florida and hope to bring it to Atlanta in a few weeks. I will then start taking advantage of the boards. Thank you all in advance.

Welcome to the forum Tony! As a fellow Astore owner, you'll love your airplane! We look forward to hearing more about it (and seeing some pics as Flocker suggested!)
Cheers

Hey Tony, is your bird N655CC? I think I saw a picture of your bird off of Instagram. There's a really good photographer that I follow and I guess she works at the location where they are fixing your autopilot. Small world! She looks gorgeous!

Welcome Tony. I am the guy you spoke with at the Sebring hanger. I have the tan colored Astore N627TA. Sorry you are having AutoPilot problems. I wonder if it is the same issue as CharlieT. They worked on CharlieT's for a couple days without success. After discussions with Garmin, they finally decided it was a flaw in the Garmin CanBus system, which did not seem to be large enough to carry the total current draw from all the electronic devices. On CharlieT's Astore, they finally wired the power directly to the battery and then it worked correctly. Garmin is looking into the issue. I may have some of the details wrong in this explanation because the information is second hand, but the explanation is probably close. Of course, your issue may be something totally different. Either way, what they found with CharlieT's Garmin system is interesting. As readers of this forum know, I had problems with my DYNON equipment for the first several months. Whether DYNON or GARMIN, there are issues to be worked out when new systems are designed, so don't get discouraged. It is just part of new aircraft and new electronics. Our uncertified electronics are a fraction the cost of certified systems, so the wait is worthwhile. And who says they don't have these issues with new certified electronics.

Very nice bird Tony! I'm way excited for you. I guess I was wrong as the other Astore was red. Hope everything gets fixed quickly for you in regards to the autopilot!

It has been some time since I posted. Sorry. The first autopilot glitch was fixed, to be followed by another (a burned out autopilot servo) so the airplane has spent some time in the shop. Shannon was great getting Garmin to respond, but holidays delayed both repairs. I now am flying the airplane out of Albert Whitten in St Petersburg where we have a second home, and will bring it to Atlanta sometime in March. Maybe a round trip or 2 before that if good weather and my schedule coincide. I am really enjoying flying it now, maybe twice a week. Today my wife and I did a lunch flight to Venice with our dog, Lana.

Hi Tony, good to hear your enjoying your new plane. Albert Whitted is my favorite place to fly into, landing right downtown and taxiing up to the Hangar cafe, my wife and I try getting down there every week or so and it's great walking a couple of blocks to the farmers market on Saturday mornings. We keep our P2008 here in Inverness (KINF) also Roger Rowe has a Astore here. Hope to see you in Sebring. Tim
