What do any of you use for keeping your plane charged? My t-hanger is unheated. I have a 2015 P2008.

Don't have my brand and type in front of me, but I believe it's 12v, and it has a trickle charge setting. Others can chime in. For an engine warmer, I use the Twin Hornet.

Hi Chimike,
I have the lithium type light weight battery specific for light sport. When I am done flying for the day or week I keep mine on a special battery maintainer it goes through a series of self tests and works perfect! It’s been on the airplane over two years never had a start issue and the battery’s always read to go! I will get the name of the charger on my next Flt for you.

Hi Bigthr, Here’s the link to the battery I am using hope this helps ..... 5000 cycles 20min charge time a little pricy, but so worth it! I have flown all over the western USA never had any problems in over two years. It comes with a manufacture two year warranty! And it’s made for Aircraft! m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTv25q-6VxkRay & Lucy ✈️🐾😎👍🏻😊🇺🇸✅

I’ve set up a CTEK charger system for my P2008. The temp was 8 C and I was showing 11 volts and 8 C for oil/ CHT. I’d not flown in 10 days so the plane has simply been draining. Also I installed a Twin Hornet 22 engine compartment heater. I also wrapped a uhaul packing blanket around the cowling covering the front inlets and prop opening.
Two hours later the voltage was at 12.8. Oil and CHT were showing 20 C. I’ll drive back out and check things after tonight’s near freezing temps and see how it all held up.
My airport doesn’t offer heated t-hangers. So I’m very interested in any other suggestions to minimize winter conditions.

My oil temps in the winter are 20C as well. That seems to be right where the Hornet keeps it.

My wife sewed up a blanket for our 2008. I don't have the hornet yet so we still need to see how well it holds the heat. It's not real thick however I don't think we are as cold as some other places. Yesterday we did get our first dusting of snow up here in the PNW. More tonight. Wish my hanger was heated. Attachments:

Her blanket looks a lot better than mine. I’ll talk to my wife— I don’t want to have to trade her for one who can sew.
