Does anybody know what the gross weight is for the European version of the Astore? I've asked 2 different people at Tecnam or associated with them and I have 2 different answers.

Gross weight will vary to engine type and avionics. There is easily a 50-100lb. difference.

For example, my P2008 has a ‘start weight’ of around 780 lbs. Throw on the more complex avionics- other than a six-pack, a BRS system, and a 914 turbo engine and I’m closer to 890. So it’s all in the options!

To clarify - my question had to do with what the certified max gross weight is for the European model - in other words, what's the European equivalent of the 1320 pound gross weight limit in the U.S.? I was told that the airplane is certified in Europe in a different category, and that the allowable gross weight is higher than the allowable light sport U.S. gross. e.g. one person told me that the allowable gross for the same airplane in Europe is over 100 pounds more than the 1320 U.S. limit. Another person gave me a different weight.

I’ve only seen tech sheets (from other countries) for the Astore showing a max gross of 1320.
What you’ve been told about Tecnams having a greater design capability than the US LSA limit of 1320 is correct for at least the P2008. With the P2008 there are differences—the USA version is listed at a max gross of 600 kg (1323lbs) but in Europe and Asia the max gross is 650 or 700 kg (1430-1540 lbs). These can be found in the tech summaries and POH.
If there is something else out there for the Astore I’ve not located it. Someone else may have seen a non-US capability for the Astore greater than 1320.

Thanks for that. I think that explains a lot. The numbers that you have for the P2008 are exactly the numbers that I was told re the Astore, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere either. I think that the Tecnam rep must have "unintentionally" become confused between the 2.

Yes, all I’ve seen is an EASA approved 1433 lbs for the P2008 JC. Nothing for the Astore.

The POH on the Tecnam owners site gives a variety of performance (take off, landing, climb speeds, etc.) at 600, 650, and 700 kg as I recall.

I seem to remember that the UAE certified the Astore for something like 650 kg if memory serves, perhaps more. But I can’t put my hands on it now.

I have the gross weight of my airplane and a weight and moment sheet from the factory. I do not have a weight and balance form to calculate those items given my loading options. When I purchased the airplane in July, 2018, the website noted that an IPad mini was included that had an app for weight and balance, among other things. After asking my dealer and Tecnam many times, I was told that Tecnam had just discontinued providing the IPad (as in right before my particular airplane was delivered - humm?). I already have 3 IPad minis, so I didn't need another IPad, but I would have liked to have had the one that had all of the apps. Has anybody purchased a new Astore since July, 2018, and did they include that IPad?

My 2016 was delivered without the iPad. I asked and was unable to get the Apps. So your experience is "normal".

Unfortunately the website is out of date on this. Only the first few deliveries received the iPad.

The "Tecnam App" is still available at the apple store. This is the app that came on the I-pad for the early Astore.
