Noticed some MOGAS stains on the fuselage yesterday and found a broken fuel vent line: Looks like it just snapped in half. Here's the repair I made. It appears to be holding for now. Has anyone else experienced this?

Doing any high G turns? The repair looks good as long as the replacement line is fuel proof.

Probably a dumb question but where are the vent line locations in your picture on the plane? Did you have to remove a panel on the wing?

This location was accessed by the round panel behind the pitot tube.

Keep an eye on your fuel vent lines. I know of one other P2008 owner that had an issue as well.

Passenger side line broke today. Same location as the other side - near the tank. It appears as if MOGAS makes the lines stiff & brittle over time.

That sucks. Shouldn't those lines should have air in them 99.9% of the time? Maybe it's a summertime thing with full tanks and hot days?

I also had this issue repaired by Lockwood. Never saw the broken line, but saw the fuel line replacement on my invoice. This was found one year after delivery.

I also had the problem. The gas causes the line to shrink and pull apart. I added some new tubing and used an oversized hose as a coupler. It been fine for two years and over 300 hours now. Ed

I also had the problem. The gas causes the line to shrink and pull apart. Mine appears to have snapped in half. Both sides broke within an inch or two of the actual fuel tank. I purchased a new fuel vent line and it is noticeably more flexible than the current line...

I have 600 hrs on my Bravo. Both sides experienced brittleness and fracture of the line this past year. The A/C was fueled most of its life with 100LL plus Decalin and hangared. Therefore, I believe it's the choice of tubing material ( back in 2009) and lack of support of the line in the wing, all the way to the fuel tank, exacerbated by fuel fumes and liquid running back and forth in the line. Incidently I also had fuel line leaks at the wing tips. Can't say if newer Tecnams have the same tubing material, but from what I have seen in the repair hangers it looks similar.

I believe the flexible fuel lines are supposed to be replaced every 2 years. It might make sense to put the vent lines on the same schedule. I’m going to mention it at my next annual.

Any idea what material these vent lines are made of? Are the replacement lines you guys are putting in of a different material?

The pic below is how my vent line is attached to the tank. Does anyone know if this is how the factory attaches the vent line or do the zip ties indicate the vent line might have been replaced prior to my ownership?
