ππ»ππΊπΈ Yes josh is a good guy. I am sure he has a tough job being between the customers and Capua. Right now my issue may be more cosmetic than a flying safety issue. Like you I still am not sure what the cause of my issue is. I have talked with a number of people I know about this windshield issue. They think it sounds temperature related. I hope Tecnam is putting some effort into finding out why the cracking is happening.

We have seen this before. To put it simply the it was not sealed properly at the factory or the seal let go for some reason and the paint is bubbling from fuel exposure.
It is not a difficult fix. The hardest part will be making the paint match. Hopefully you can find someone who can blend paint and not talk you into a paint line.
Getting a paint number from the factory may be helpful but not likely to give an exact match. I strongly suggest finding an experienced paint shop that knows how to match and blend paint.
Feel free to contact me if you would like further detail.

Your ideas and opinions are much appreciated. Needless to say I am not very happy with this situation. Whatever is going on was not caused by me and is most certainly a design, construction, quality control issue from the factory. Tecnam should be jumping through their a-- to address problems like this. When I bought my plane it was intended to be the only one I would ever own. When you spend 200k on a factory built plane I think the buyer expects excellence. Anything less than significant coverage on the fix is a slap in the face of the owners. I love my plane but this is irritating. Thanks.

Well it looks like I have the same issue now Please send this to Josh as I am in the middle of discussions with him on the issue. He should see all examples of this problem. I assume you saw what Mark wrote.

Well it looks like I have the same issue now Yup that's it....sorry. Check around all fuel tank inspection plates and your sumps on the bottom of wings. Oh and look at all rivets associated with the tank. Looks like you have some involved rivets that aren't on the inspection plates. One other thing....have you checked the surface of the wing skins right around the inspections plates and sumps for rough hard areas? One other question...what fuel are you using?

One more note of encouragement. If you haven't taken a close look at all the rivets, inspection plates, and wing skin surfaces associated with your fuel tanks please do so. I am apparently not the first or only 2008 owner with bubbling paint.

Hi Tony. Thanks for this and I am sorry your affected. Did you check around the sumps on the underside of the wing? Please contact Josh at Tecnam US he wants to know about this. Now is the time to show this isn't some kind of random problem but rather one that impacts a wide part of the 2008 fleet.
