I’ve noticed most of the posts are fairly old, I check everyday for new ones. I am currently researching my options for an LSA, tecnam p2008 being in the top 3 choices for me at this time. I enjoy the forums, lots of useful information from owners.

ChiMike ....Heading to Sebring from Sarasota for an oil change with Lockwood on Monday. Talked with Josh Thursday and told him I would be in the neighborhood. He offered to check the nose gear friction and prop blade settings. Have always had a little stutter on the nosewheel on landing and a little more vibration with the engine recently. I've accumulated about 35 hours since buying the ship in August. About 70 hours total time on the ship now. ChiMike....I summer up on Washington Island (2P2). Lunch and an Island tour is on me if you come to visit.

I am planning on attending the rotax course this January. Hopefully I will also have a chance to fly the bristell while I’m there.

Took the Rotax course about 3 years ago. Plan to take it again in the next few years.

Just to keep this thread alive....the free lunch extended at 2P2 goes for anyone else that ventures north to the Island. You'll be taking a step back in time with a visit there, but the free lunches won't start until May....2021.

I'm doin good. Was out last evening with my first officer killing bugs with 4 Bravo Zulu at S50 Auburn Washington. It was a spectacular day. However we got a late start so just stayed in the pattern. I just put some aluminum tape on the radiators because I'm running a bit cold. So playing around trying to find the optimal coverage.
The other big change (for me at least) was trying out a new prescription in my flying sun glasses. I have struggled a lot with being able to see my panel clearly. A few years ago I purchased some frames with rather large lenses. They look goofy but the frame is mostly outside of my view which is nice. I had just a distance lens in them hoping the panel was far enough away that it would be in focus, but no joy. I use bifocals in my regular glasses distance/close up. These never worked well either. So it was suggested that I add a mid range lens in the bottom of my sun glasses so they would be bifocals, distance/midrange. Wow what a difference that made. Now I can see my right side Skyview panel clearly. I do have to hold things further away if I want to read fine print but it was a good trade off. I didn't want to go trifocal as I thought there would be too much distortion between the lenses. They also made the midrange as wide as they could so that it would reduce the amount of twisting of my head to the right to see the right panel. That part is not perfect but an improvement. They can only make that bottom lens so wide before it distorts the vision due to the curve of the glasses.

Flew to Destin FL last weekend. We stayed in Rosemary Beach. I highly recommend. Hit me up for any recommendations. PS - Ran into another Tecnam owner on the ramp. N545TA. I invited her to join TT. Hopefully she will.

Follow-up to my post of 11/21. Josh and Sean at Tecnam US, Sebring KSEF could not have been nicer. Found the nose wheel friction to be loose as a goose. Suspect it was not checked at the delivery annual. The also checked the slight engine vibration that was a concern. Found one prop blade slight underpitched (4 setting). Noticeable improvement flying home to SRQ. Less vibration and nose gear chatter on landing. Also much easier to control when pushing back into the hangar. Here's the real puzzler. I always needed a little right rudder in cruise even after bending the trim tab for correction. The ship now flies with the ball centered at cruise. Sean suspected the nose wheel may have been canted from the prop blast prior to added friction. Anyway, I'm happy.

Hey Buzz, I held out as long as I could on prescription glasses. I wore Costco readers for years. I finally took the plunge. I went right to Nikon Trifocal Progressive lenses. At first I hated them. It felt like I was spending too much time adjusting my head in order to bring things into focus. After a month or so finding focus just became second nature. I now wear the Trifocals full time. My wife had mono vision laser surgery done. One eye is for distance and one for reading. It took her a while to adjust. But she loves it now. I'm afraid to have it done because distance to the panel in my aircraft is somewhere between distance and reading. I'm curious to know if any of you pilots have had laser surgery and its affect on flying.
