This new Mandatory Bulletin was received Dec. 3rd. and happens to include the engine serial number of my 2018 P2008 Turbo. I haven't checked the carb. serial numbers yet but suspect that since the engine is relatively new and un-altered the carb serials will also be in the affected batch. The issue involved fuel being absorbed into the float, a repeat problem in earlier engines, I believe. Can anyone shed some additional light on the problem? There was no recommended time requirement for the inspection in the bulletin.

I know you may not have the certified version just FYI.

Hi All, I contacted Brett at Leading Edge Airfoils 800-532-3463. I had the defective floats in my 2018 P-2008. Brett sent me new Floats that wonβt absorb the fuel, carb bowl gaskets and carb bowl O rings. I could not get the 914 Turbo to get past 4000 RPMS on the mag check. Any Rpm up to 4000 was good. Not good past 4000 Rpm. Once I spoke to Brett. He knew exactly what the problem was. Here is his contact info heβs the best! He has helped me with several other Issues. $500.00 they charged me , but on a positive note the engine was still under Rotax factory warranty. It took six months to get reimbursed - $100.00 still happy to get $400.00 back lots of paper work! And no allowance for labor took me three Hours per carb to due the float replacement..... The 914 takes a lot longer because of the way the carb drip trays are installed ..... Ray & Lucy ππππ»ππ»βοΈβοΈβ

When at Sebring today, getting my fuel leak fixed, I stopped in to talk with Joe Benton at Lockwood about checking my carb floats as my engine is on the list with the potential problem. He advised me there is a new bulletin on the subject: SB912-074 Compliance. Look it up to be sure but essentially it states that if you engine is running rough at low engine speeds (4000 crankshaft rpm) or showing fuel leakage, change out the floats BEFORE THE NEXT FLIGHT. Otherwise carry out the float inspection at the next scheduled maintenance event but at the latest 1 year from the original bulletin.

Carb floats are on on backorder again. If you know you need them I suggest sourcing them now so you have when you need!
