Just wanted to know what tape you are using on your radiator? I mentioned a while ago that I am messing around trying to find the right amount of tape to put on for cold weather. The problem I am running into is that the tape I am using is not sticking to the radiators for very long. I have been using aluminum tape that has a blue adhesive on the back. I do a good job of putting it on. I wrap it over the top and bottom and ensure that there is good contact with the front surface of the radiator. The problem is a few days later the tape is no longer sticking to the front. Sooooo what tape are you using and is it doing a good job?

I bought a roll of aluminum tape at Home Depot. Haven’t had any issues with adhesion. I currently have one strip at the top of each radiator and will probably be adding another by my next flight.

I have also used the alu tape but it does come off sometimes. I'm looking at some foam strips fitted to the cowling opening, not sure yet how to afix them. The velcro didn't hold.

Recently removed my aluminum tape, which I had doubled for added thickness, and replaced it with black foam rubber tape used on air conditioner Freon lines. It's about an 1/8" thick 2" wide and sticks very well yet removable without breaking apart as the adhesive side has threads running through it. It's been on for over a month now. mb

Painters tape works well also. Just overlap it onto the cowl so it stays put.
