How many of you get high voltage readings? In the range of 14.8 to 15.3 Thanks Ed

I do Ed....
2018 P2008 914 powered. I run 14.6 to 15.1 at cruise power, about 5200 rpm. I've had some concern about over charging. How about some input on this from the experts.....mb

I have the same issue and have always been concerned.

I've had high voltage since I picked up my plane in 2016. I changed the voltage regulator and that was no help.
Didn't seem to hurt the battery cause it lasted 52 months.

What instrument? Verified with a multimeter? The voltage with a charged battery should not exceed 14.4V to prevent battery damage. Is the 22,000 microfarad capacitor installed? Without that capacitor, the voltage reading can go higher due to the ripple on top of the DC voltage.

Tecnam does install the capacitor. I’m not sure where the voltage is being measured but, I’m guessing it’s at the main bus bar so there probably some voltage drop going back the the battery. I have a 50amp external alternator which when running by itself will show 13.8 to 14.2 volts which is pretty normal. As soon as I turn on the internal system the voltage will climb over 15 volts. For that reason I only use it for backup. Ed
