Has any one installed LEMO plugs on the P 2008? Yes.... A pair of Lemo's is relatively inexpensive and the install is not unreasonable. Mine went on the opposite end of where the phone jacks are installed facing aft. The necessary power is right nearby, too. Have an avionics tech do the work unless you're pretty savvy. In my case it was easier to replace the phone jacks with new rather than un-solder the existing wiring and keeping them in parallel with the Lemos. I'm using the Lightspeeds from my Cirrus and love em'. mb

Has any one installed LEMO plugs on the P 2008? I installed LEMOs on my P2008 and also like having them. I consider it both a convenience and a safety enhancement. You don't want to have headset batteries going out on you at a task-saturated time. Be aware that, at least legally speaking, making this modification to a normal S-LSA Tecnam requires a letter of approval from Tecnam. That's the hassle of light-sport and makes so many nice upgrades like this not worth the effort and headache. My own plane is re-registered as an E-LSA (experimental), so it did not need that approval.

I had the LEMOs in my DA 42 and really liked them. I will have the shop install them along with the G-175 and the pilot relief tube. My airplane is due in any day now and the folks at Sebring have to assemble it. I plan to leave the phone jacks in the airplane as my X.Y.L. likes in ear headsets, keeps the hair neat you know.

Transitioning from a DA42 to a Tecnam? Or just adding to the fleet?

I sold the DA 42. I am going to be 75 next month therefore the insurance co. hates me, my rates went up by a factor of 2. We also sold our second home in Florida, so the N.J. to Fla. trip is no longer the mission. New engines for the Diamond are $181,000 to replace so all in all the Tecnam seems like a deal.

Loved the DA 42, a very nice airplane. I used it about 100 hours plus a year both local and long haul , a great flyer and at 80% power burned 5.9 a side of Jet-A. whats not to like.

One question about the LEMO addition, as I would like to have them installed in my plane when delivered. Does using LEMO headsets take away power that could be used for iPad charging or for other aux devices?

YMMV, so check with your avionics guy. I have two LEMOs and still have juice to power iPhone. I have plugged a current-model iPad air in there, too, with no problems but can't tell you offhand how quickly it charges off the supplied AC adaptor.
