I am off to Rotax school Monday AM. I will also get to see my new airplane N85DW and should be bringing it to NC for some upgrades;than to NJ. It has been a wait but maybe it is over. Next will be L.S.A. Maint. Tech school, the full course.

Look forward to seeing your new bird and hearing about your up grades …… Also where are you taking your maintenance courses ….. ? I am tired of paying A&P mechanics to screw up my airplane. Then I get to fix what they thought was the right way to do the maintenance….. Ray & Lucy ✅😊👍🏻🇺🇸

I think I will be going to Rainbow Aviation in MO. that will be in Feb. or March,I have to talk to my wife about that. She really is not keen on being home alone and I quite agree. I will let you know as things progress. The upgrades are : Garmin G 175 , Pilot relief tube (very important at 75 years and a kidney transplant) L.E.M.O. plugs for my head sets and replace the tail numbers with something a bit more classy. The numbers look like black duct tape. David & Cecilia

Excited to hear how everything go’s ……… Yea, looks like Rainbow aviation has the market on SLSA training wish they had some classes out west maybe even California……. We changed the tail number on our first Tecnam the paper work takes awhile, but we really enjoyed installing the new tail number and I am sure you both will also😊👍🏻🇺🇸 Ray & Lucy ✅😊👍🏻🇺🇸☀️✈️😎🐶

FYI, I went to Rainbow weekend class (LSA Maintenance Inspector rating) in MO in 2019.
If you already know what you're doing and are looking to check a regulatory box, this is perfect. At least for my group, however, there wasn't a lot of relevant learning and it was more pitched to the ultralight crowd. The course was largely teaching to a 100-question test. After taking that class, I now hold a maintenance rating that would let me do a full annual on my plane. Actually doing that without some real and significant training would be scary and reckless.

Hi Grant, Some wise words…… I am looking at attending soon! I basically have an A&P after 20 years of working on the F-16 C/D models and still have all of my training transcripts. It’s an Associates degree in aero space technology…….. but each airplane and engine are very different. I have had other A&P mechanics think they know what they’re doing, but do not as you know….. The Rotax engine needs special care and feeding…… as does the P-2008. I have done numerous training videos covering all areas of the Rotax and the P-2008. But I feel this class would really bring my skills up to where they need to be……. extra sharp! However this does not allow me to sign off my own annuals. I have to rely on the untrained A&P to make my log books legal and normally have to correct several of they’re mistakes! The class make perfect sense! And you can work on any SLSA HOW cool is that! Ray & Lucy ✅🇺🇸👍🏻😊✅✈️🐶

John, Have you found an airplane yet? I have been ill for the last month plus therefore I have not been doing anything except staying in bed. We should go fly again as soon as I feel up to the task.
