landing light

Is anyone unhappy with the landing light on the P 2008? I did my first night landing in my new airplane last night and the landing light is so dim that I could not see the runway from 5 feet above the pavement.
Is there a better  ( brighter ) light available.

What year is your plane? Mine is 2016 with the LED light. Not as bright as my old Cirruses for sure but I have always thought it’s at least adequate.

My airplane is a 2021 with 20 hours and a LED light. The landing light is worse than the landing light was on my Diamond DA 42 which needed a very bright flash light to see the runway.
I enjoy night flying so I need a brighter landing light. Maybe I can find a higher power light. My Baron was the best after upgrading to H.I.D. lights but I thing that would not be possible with the 2008.

Under S-LSA rules you would need an approval to change to a different light. If you were registered E-SLA like me, I’m sure you could find a substitute. Seems like the kind of item that Boom Ream or someone would have an approximate replacement.

I do agree: More light is always better. My first plane, a 1962 Cessna, had something like a single birthday candle upfront.

The landing light is held in with sealant.

Hi Capt,

I have a 2018 model with the same light. Mine seems very bright…. maybe it’s not getting the proper voltage or lose connection…….. LED lights rarely have problems, but anything is possible…… Have you contacted Tecnam since your airplane is under factory warranty?
