I'm test flying the 912 again tomorrow, want to see how it climbs and performs in the 5,000-7,000ft range. Hi Did you get a chance to fly the Flight Design F2? What were your impressions?? Thanks

I did, a few days ago. Drove 600 miles round trip to meet Tom P at the airport in Orange Cty NY. It was only the prototype but he told me the changes that one would see between the prototype and the production model. They have 22 or so orders (half from CT owners), 3 delivered I think, delivering 2 a month or so, likely looking at August delivery for an order now. I was impressed. I like the wing design, and I like the focus on occupant protection. I actually adjusted quickly to the combined throttle/brake action. 912iS engine is all that's offered and I think it flew fine. Frankly it's nice not to have a choice, given how I've agonized over the 912iS vs 914 question (I've pretty much settled on the 914....) I like Tom a lot, he's a plus for the plane. Tecnam is more stable and has deeper history than FD but FD has new investment from a German fund and Chinese investors and they've developed a new line of aircraft. So it looks like there in the game for a while at least. If they could match the delivery date of the P2008 I'd be seriously tempted, though I have some trepidation about the "beta testing a new plane" issue. I think the plane should sell well and ought to be a strong competitor to the P2008 once they get ramped up and any early kinks get ironed out.
