Hi folks, question for those of you who own the P2008 in the US. Are your main landing gears straight or curved? I was told by the factory that the P2008 JC which is sold only in the EU and some other countries has the curved mains which is much more robust than the straight ones. Thank you.

Hi PV9, I had a 2012 P-2008 it had the curved landing gear……. I flew it for five years. I presently own a 2018 P-2008 it has the straight gear I do not notice any difference, except with the straight gear the airplane stands a few inches higher and gives the airplane more prop clearance which I really like over the curved…. I have not checked the specifications. I believe they are both rated for MTOW 1650 lbs. My wife is only 5 ft tall and she really notices the height difference when getting in and out of the airplane ✈️ Ray & Lucy ☀️😊🔥🇺🇸🎄🎁🎄✈️🎁✅✈️🎁🎄🇺🇸

2015 P2008 straight legs. My assumption has always been that the curved gear on the JC was to handle a high max weight as allowed by EASA.

Here is what I have been able to figure out from various EASA filings: P2008 US LSA: 1320 MTOW (straight legs), 600 kg P2008 JC EASA: 1430 MTOW (curved legs), 650kg P2008 JC rest of world: 1650 MTOW (curved legs), 750 kg
