Whenever they wind up taking possession of the first P2012's, I was thinking about flying up there to see them. I've made that flight before. Non-stop for me with 23 useable from lower Delaware. Anyone else interested?

I’m always up for a road (air) trip, schedule permitting.

That looks like a fun trip Chris! How do you handle the New York airspace?

I actually am a true Sport Pilot, so I have a logbook endorsement from a CFI for class D, and a separate endorsement for class B/C. All I'm doing is transitioning the airspace with flight following. I contact Atlantic City approach going up the coast. They usually pass me off to McGuire AFB who passes me off to New York. They always vector me right over the JFK VOR at about 5500'. I fly out Long Island from there, over Block Island, and on to Cape Cod. (I used to have a house up there, so I've made the flight more than once.)

Last time, on the return trip, we flew the "Hudson Corridor". You drop to 1100' up around White Plains, NY and fly straight down the Hudson River. All you have to do is report position at a few points along the way. After flying past Freedom Tower, The USS Intrepid, The Empire State building and The Statue of Liberty, you start climbing around the Verrazzona-Narrows Bridge, hop back on with flight following, and head south! It's just too, too cool!!! Pic below is Manhattan, the USS Intrepid, etc... and the wing of my P92.
