No, I didn't drop a wing and go into a spin. I was practicing at altitude today, and decided to do a power off stall. Set up for the proper configuration. Coordinated, nose up, no power, bleeding off speed. The AoA is screeching at me. All of a sudden I get a verbal low speed warning, and then I'm told the auto pilot is engaged and the plane is put into level mode. I knew the ESP feature was there, but I had never tested it. The autopilot master must be turned on to engage, and today it was. I was very impressed!

I take it you had the AP system on but not engaged?

ChiMike, I don't believe I did anything except turn on the Autopilot master switch on the console. The ESP is set to turn on automatically.

Re stalls in our airplanes - when I went on my demonstration flight in the Astore, I told the dealer that I wanted to see how it reacted in deep stall mode. I stalled it and kept it deep into the stall. I would say that it lasted for almost 10 seconds before the wing dropped, which is impressive. However, once it dropped, it was quite dramatic and needed lots of rudder to get back to level. I would say that the Astore gets an A+ for stall characteristics.
