Hi All,
I waited a year to have my Avionics guy fix my radio and ADSB. The radio antennas ( loud squeal in my ears ) were reversed and I spent the last year with my ADSB NON - compliant and two days 16 hours tying to figure out what was wrong and found that pin 29 was shorted on the transponder connector. Shannon failed to do a final qualification ADSB flight in controlled airspace to ensure that it was working. It N356X left Sebring Non-complaint and I have spent the last year flying in controlled airspace Non - complaint, Got a call from the FAA NOTIFYING me I was not to fly the airplane until the ADSB was repaired and had to have a special flt permit to fly the three hours needed to get to Ryan field from Boulder City ...... Been waiting 2 months to see if Tecnam is going to reimburse me the $2000.00 I paid my Avionics guy to repair and update the software on the transponder it’s self. That’s right it’s a separate update apart from the PFD and the MFD up dates.... So keep that in mind when you do your software updates. So Let’s see if Tecanm does the right thing and reimburses me and the $2000.00 and $1000.00 travel expenses to fly from Boulder City to Ryan Air field .......... Keep in mind N356X is still under a full Two year factory warranty. But I really don’t think Tecnam cares? They claim they want 100% customer satisfaction ? Even thou they at every turn, request and need more proof. I spoke with Josh today he informed me that Tecnam wants me to fly back to Ryan Airfield and and have my Avionics Tech verify what he has already put into writing again what he has already done. Which would cost me another $3000.00 all the while still waiting to see if they will reimburse me for the first repair. Then fly back to Ryan and maybe they will cover 50% of the $9000.00 I will have spent! They did agree to pay for $274.00 for the new ADSB connector that Tecnam installed improperly. Also the traffic alert Volume from the transponder is at 100% and can’t be turned down. They wired the audio line improperly there are two options to repair this replace the the GTX45R with the GTX35R $5600,00 which has the capability to be able to adjust the audio volume. Or re-wire the whole aircraft harness not sure about the cost of this yet........
Just gets old I was thinking if I bought a new airplane Tecnam would be there if I need any type of repair ? Wow was I ever wrong the word Warranty really does not have any meaning........ it’s easy to promise, but never deliver they do live up to that sad but true.
The problem is I am not sure if the word Warranty translates well from Italian to English?
They have denied the repair to the oil return line that was strapped directly to the exhaust manifold ( And burned through ) from the factory that was another $2000.00 repair I paid for and Darn lucky I did not trash a brand new engine and an off airport landing .......
