This may be old news—but it was new to me today.
I called Sebring to ask about a part. I spoke with Amber who told me the new process is to first email Italy with the part question or desired part number (if you have it—please provide as much info as possible including year and s/n of aircraft, and a picture of the part in question if you can.) She said the USA parts manager there in Italy would respond to the email with the price and current or future availability.
The edress is: spareparts.usa@tecnam.com
Has anyone else done it this way?

Sorry to hear this new development. Domestic, inventoried, parts was a key element in my decision to buy Tecnam aircraft. I also recommended Tecnam to others based on the physical pressance in Sebring which was unique to the brand. If this is the way we have to go for the future, it's a major blow to the existing customer fleet and the residual value of our aircraft..

I had to order a fuel pump switch last week, and yes, I was given the same instruction. It's the first I've heard of the change. I did speak to Josh in Sebring and he verified they had the part, (even sent me a pic of it) but I still had to go through Italy.

My only thought is that maybe—maybe—Italy has finally figured out they have a parts and service issue in the U.S. and they are trying to manage it. But perhaps I’m giving them too much credit.

As the Maintenance Director of a Flight School that currently operates 2 Tecnam aircraft and is taking delivery of 2 P-Mentors in the next few weeks. I have been aware of this change and have spoke my concerns continually. We shall see how this works out.

I received a response in less than 24 hours with price, availability, and delivery information. I was impressed with the timely follow up.

Well I guess my question would be ...Is this an indication that they aren't stocking parts at Sebring anymore? And that any needed parts would have to be shipped from Capua? And yes I will echo the comments of LSA FLYER that domestic parts inventory was a big part of my decision to purchase a Tecnam. I guess I will give them a little slack on this. The key will be 1. Will they be good at answering the emails 2. How quick will they be at getting the parts in the mail.

I received a response in less than 24 hours with price, availability, and delivery information. I was impressed with the timely follow up. Well for us. In the past I know anything past 11 EST, I got nothing from italy until the next day. When we had problems with our P2006T gear, I was waking up at 4AM sending E mails. I was told by Josh that they are planning to adjust his ours to match US time zones. My problem is if I have an airplane with an issue at noon. I need a part, I am AOG and need to overnight. I don't have 24 hours to wait for a response. I have expressed my concerns of that, Parts supply in Fla being adequate enough to support the growing fleet of training aircraft in the USA is another. So we will see what changes are made. I joined this site a day after I heard we bought one (P92MKII) and I have read all about the parts struggles and that effects ME the mechanic. I know they fly GREAT but I can honestly say the last year now. When I deal with them, my blood pressure goes up. There was a time when it was not bad. Got to know Christine over the phone who worked in the parts room and she took a lot of that stress away for a time. So we will see with these changes and knowing that many are coming. I wont be the only squeaky wheel. I am hoping to use this site more as a tool for us all to work together to keep these things flying. We dont make money with them sitting in the corner waiting for parts.

There should be no parts problems or delays. Here is an exert from a Tecnam press release from February of 2022:
“We want to serve our customers better; we want to exceed their expectations. I am sure that Volodymyr will excel in his new role and will ensure a tighter coordination of our service operations and meet our goals in terms of Customer Satisfaction”, says Giovanni Pascale, TECNAM Managing Director.
Maybe we need to let Giovanni know the parts situation is worse now...

Maybe we need to let Giovanni know the parts situation is worse now... Its not gotten any better. Parts not listed in the IPC. Have to reach out to engineering to have them find the part. Just looking for a screw part number for the wing panels on the P2006T. Pretty much all mechanics would look in Chapter 57 for wings of the ATA codes. Not seeing it anywhere I notified engineering in italy. They sent me a copy of the IPC saying it was in the manual. Yes apparently it is under Chapter 52 for Doors! This is one of many issues. A friend of mine called me who was working on a brand new P2006T that needed help. He made a statement that was perfect. "The maintenance manuals read like an Automotive Chiltons manual but with all the important information left out"

Tecnam has emergent sales numbers which COULD cause the brand to absolutely dominate in the U.S., particularly after MOSIAC is finalized. The Tecnam product is simply a beautiful airplane.
But no sane buyer will build a flight school without overnight, reliable parts and technical assistance. Based on everything I hear and read, I am not convinced Tecnam has ever figured that out. I question whether or not they ever will.

My experience on two instances of parts ordering have been pretty good. Parts that were not in stock in Sebring came in from Italy but the shipping cost was very reasonable. I suspect they send quantities of parts to Sebring in a single shipment which then gets distributed from Sebring. Tecnam seemed to be on top of things.
A few weeks ago, I ordered 2 gas struts for a glider trailer from Germany. I was expecting a long delivery time. It took about 10 days; quite a bit faster than I had imagined.
