Anyone else having issues with the IO 390 blowing oil? Anybody installed an air/oil separator? If so, which brand?

Are you filling it. I was told find where it settles in then keep it there. Mine is 1 quart shy of full. Pretty much stays there.

I put no more than 4 1/2 quarts in it. It goes through a quart every 4 hours. Blows it out worse than any airplane I’ve ever had. 198 hours on the IO 390. I wipe the belly down from cowling to tail every third flight.

In my experience, if Continentals and Lycomings are filled to full capacity they typically blow out a quart or so and then remain pretty much at that new level. If they continue to blow more then sometimes it due to leakage past the cylinder rings and that's diagnosed by a differential compression test or a leak down test.
What has been investigated in an attempt to verify that your oil loss is abnormally high?

Agree with others. I don't fill to max and I burn about a quart every 20 hours or so...

My IO-390 P2010 has 700 Hrs on it and it runs clean.
The only problem I have is the labelling on the Oil placard and the Markings on dipstick don't line up.
