Just got my signoff from my A&P on the first annual for N110TU (my first since ownership). My mechanic took his time as it was his first with the P2008, although he does all my maintenance, so he already knows the aircraft quite well. I helped about 2/3 of the time, just removing inspection panels, cleaning up fluids, tools, etc.. All told, he had about 20 hours invested. No deficiencies found. $1400 in labor, about $160 in parts & supplies (oil, grease, corrosion spray, etc.). The only hiccup is we could not locate Mastinox for the wing root joint anywhere, so the nearby repair shop sold me some 3M white silicone adhesive that's UV stable and seems to be a better alternative. A subtle reminder why I went with a new-ish Tecnam vs some 40-50 year old certificated aircraft. Dare I say it - this annual was enjoyable. Calling this a win! I even had enough time to properly bathe her and put some detailer spray on the horizontal surfaces. Bugs are out now, so treated the leading edges with a nice shot of lemon pledge.

Im looking forward to future annuals — my Cirrus SR22 base annual is $4.3K. It’s been a great plane with little above the base — just normal wear and tear — but it’ll be nice to save $3-4K a year.

I have to do the five-year rubber replacement this year God I wish you were right!!!! That’s just not the case

That’s just not the case Fully aware of the 5 year rubber but with a Cirrus you get a chute repack for $20k, line cutters @ $2K, Mag overhaul at $3K for the pair, etc. I owed an LSA for 11 years and a Cirrus for 6. Overall yearly cost for an LSA are close to 1/3 of a Cirrus. YMMV.
