So, apparently there is an approved "setting #6" specified for Sensenich ground adjustable props. I contacted them about ordering a replacement gauge pin #4/5 and he mentioned that they have the CAD files & drawings available for a setting #6, they just don't offer the actual pin. I'm going to drop the docs off to a local machine shop and see what they want to make one. I'd LOVE to have a teeny bit more cruise. My 914 climbs at over 1500 fpm on takeoff, so I can safely trade a little climb for cruise. From pin 4 to 5, I saw a 4-5 knot increase in speed (and frankly no measurable change in climb). My plane trues out right at 130 knots at my normal cruise altitudes (usually 7K-10K). Bumping that to 135 would be A+.
Anyone else already gone down this path? I saw a few people discussing 5.5, which makes me think they’re setting at 5, then adding a couple of degrees with a protractor. I’m not super keen to that approach, but setting pitch with the pins is a brilliant design.

There is legal MTOW and engineered, good enough for everywhere else in the world MTOW: does this change affect take off performance if at max “legal” MTOW?
Does this change degrade takeoff performance in higher density altitude situations?

Don't confuse True Airspeed with Indicated Airspeed.

Right, this is nowhere near VNE - must closer to VH actually. When I'm at normal cruise altitudes (7k-10k), my map at full power is in the 29's. That tells me the engine is barely working. I'd expect another notice of prop would put me in the 30's MAP, which makes more sense.
Based on the wide variety of props available for the P2008 (like 4+), there are infinite variables to consider. To me, this is just adding a hair more prop/MAP. This is a tuning thing to me, not a modification in any manner.
