Front Windshield Bling...

I've always liked the black "grid" treatments of the front canopy window on newer P2008s. It seemed to be a vinyl applique situated on the plexi inside. I found this material on Amazon and decided to give it a try:

It's not designed to mount to compound curves but the windshield on the P2008 is "straight" for about 27 inches. I cut a 26 inch X 3 inch piece and allowed it to flatten overnight. The material comes in a roll and allowing it to flatten makes for easier handling. The material is very easy to work with and it went on easily. There are a few minor "creases" that only I'll probably notice. It holds firm but can easily be removed with intention.

The final product looks good. Thought I'd share in case some of you with the older windshields might want to add some ramp appeal bling to an already smart-looking aircraft.

Does it assist with blocking glare—direct sunlight, or does it just look good on the tarmac?

I dunno about the glare block as I've yet to fly with the feature installed. I plan on flying on Sunday, so we'll see. Maybe Buzz can chime in with his practical experience? His installation looks like it covers more area than mine so likely more effective.

I didn't find any notable improvement as a glare blocker in full sun. It does look "good" on the tarmac though.

I think we should revisit some visor solutions. I'm not a fan of suction cups ala the Ram Mount approach.
