Hi Guys,
Just wondering how many of you have the BRS system in your aircraft? It does give an extra level of safety & does add extra weight an maintenance issues..... I do like having it for the piece of mind..... Like a fire extinguisher you hope an pray you never need it, but glad it's there if you do! ...... I have seen Sirius videos of an actual deployment looks like they work well I think there have been over 125 saves so far? What are your thoughts?

Mine will have BRS. The issue with the P2008 and chute is it does push the limit on the weight of the aircraft, especially if it's the turbo or 912is. I have whined out loud on more than one occasion that the chute should get a weight exemption from the FAA.

I ordered a 2017 P2008TC from Mark Gregor and he did so much to help me to descide get one. I really appreciate all that he's done. At AirVenture a Cirrus test pilot sat down next to me, and I really quizzed him on the chute. Bottom line unless you're 100% sure you can make the runway PULL the chute for 2 reasons, 1: You get to have dinner with your family and 2: Insurance covers the plane. Land in a field due to engine failure may NOT be a covered expense. It's only 20#. The best way to improve the useable load in an LSA is to put the pilot on a diet. I'm having steamed broccoli for supper. Bon appetite
