Sounds like they're planning a Bahamas trip afterwards. Mark, could you post the details?

At this point we really haven't put together any other details beyond what is written in the invite. As we find out how many want to go and we will firm it up. And of course weather dependent. I have never done this trip either so will be trying to help where I can but will be learning the system like everyone else.
If you have any specific questions let me know and I can discuss w Shannon.

Wx permitting, I'm in. I've flown there before. Let me know if I can be of assistance. PS - This is a good resource: Bahamas Flying Guide

How much time over the water? And do you depart from Sebring, or do you have to stop in someplace like Miami or Fort Pierce?

The most direct route is West Palm Beach (KPBI) to Freeport (MYGF). It's about 40 minutes over the water.
PS - Here's another good planning resource: AOPA's Flying to the Bahamas Checklist
If you're planning to go this January, I'd recommend applying for your radio licenses and the Customs & Border Protection decal now. They take a while to come in. It's worth noting that the only document I was asked to produce when I was there was a passport.

How much time over the water? And do you depart from Sebring, or do you have to stop in someplace like Miami or Fort Pierce? You can take off from anywhere, but you do have to land at an Airport of Entry. Designated as "AOE" under the airport name on the sectional. You need to do this going both ways.
PS - Some airports have mobile Customs Agents and can meet you at a non-AOE airport if you call ahead. I recently found out that my home field provides this service.

Received word from Tecnam on Monday that the Bahamas excursion has been cancelled. (Not enough sign-ups) There are currently 23 RSVPs for the Owner's meeting on Friday.
Look forward to meeting everyone!

Meeting report. Turns out the meeting was more of an owner's social. There was not anything on the agenda from the Tecnam side of things, which was disappointing to say the least. No update on US sales, any model changes/improvements, not even a word about the new Sierra. Such a missed opportunity to say the least. Especially when Tecnam has plenty to say!
Now the good part. They did a good job on food and drinks, and I met many people from the forum at the event. What a great group of guys! Everyone has a different experience level and background, but a genuinely nice group. Great to put faces to (screen) names, and good to talk aviation in general and tecnam in particular with like minded individuals.
Some headed out after the meeting, but others went to dinner, and we continued to talk weather, flying, and our planes.
I know TimB, Charlie T, Flocker, Geobuff, Mark and I were there, as well as a few guys not currently on the forum. If I missed anyone, speak up and my apologies.
All in all, well worth the trip!
