Was wondering if anybody has applied an adhesive sun shade film to the upper portion of your 2008 front window? Getting tired of the bright sun. I have noticed that many of the 2008 JC models have what looks like a factory installed shade on the window.
Went to an auto parts store and found what I thought would do the trick. Prior to install I saw on the directions that the adhesive on the film was not compatible with Plexiglas so I skipped it.
I sent a message to Mark and he was able to confirm that Tecnam used to apply the before mentioned shade but apparently not any more. Not sure if it was because of compatibility or what.
I know there was some previous discussion on here about flip-down style shades. Would be nice to solve this issue.
Thanks
Buzz

Hi Buzz, Here is the link of the film I used. It works very well and the nice part is you can remove it! I had a professional tint guy install mine he charged me $50.00 labor. You can see what it looks like I posted a picture of it as well as the sun shades installed. Let me know if you need an further infoπΎπβππ»πΊπΈ Ray & Lucy images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/31oU-d3tViL._SL500_SS75_SS75_.jpg

Yes that worked thanks. Looks good I like that it uses no adhesive. Have you had good luck with it? I bet you really need it where you're at.

Hi Buzz,
It's been on for about 8 months it has held up very well. An yes it really helps out here in the desert south west! The sick on sun shields add a second layer of protection, but you may not need both like we doππ» An installation note ~ use a few drops of baby shampoo in a spray bottle then spay it on both the tint an windshield. Make sure not to drag your squeege across or touch the windshield it's self as you know it very soft and will scratch easy. Let me know if you need an further assistance.

Very cool I appreciate it. Great news that it is working good for you. The film that I had purchased also recommended the baby shampoo. My goal is to tint that top 5 or so inches so that the sun doesn't wash out my view of the panel. I fly with my seat far forward which puts me in the sun. Trying to find the perfect balance between the benefits of the large front window, shading the sun, and using my glasses.
Thanks

Roger that! The nice part is if you screw up cutting it, or getting your distance right on the length it"s pretty cheap to buy another roll!πΊπΈππ»πβππΎ

Not sure where to pose this but in terms of a windshield reflective screen for internal use on the ramp when travelling, Bruces covers makes an amazing one. It folds flat in a really nice ripstop nylon flat pouch with your aircraft number on it which is likely worth as much as the cover and the cover fits perfectly and has the anti scratch layer. They have all the covers and cowl plugs for the P2008 and are at: www.aircraftcovers.comand it is the: TC8-900 WINDSHIELD HEATSHIELD I had Mark order the Tecnam cabin cover also but with the heat shield it doesn't get as much use but it is a good cover.
