I changed out the original filters (which were stock K&N) five years old for new stock K&N filters, Wow what a difference! Better fuel economy an over a hundred RPM. The originals looked as if they had shrunk, and yes I did clean an oil them regularly. I figured they were a life time filter? Guess not! Have any of you had any similar situations.

There must have been some fine dirt/dust in the filters causing a restriction. I too am a bit surprised you seen such a big difference.

They sell it on Amazon Prime, I think it is currently out of stock. This is the part number for the P2008 912iS, many thanks to the Tecnam guys for the help.

I've lost about 4kts in cruise speed. I ordered a new filter today. Maybe that's my problem? Ed

I ordered that filter and installed. No difference in performance. Of course my old filter looked fine, so no reason to expect any difference. If a filter is plugged or of poor quality so flow is restricted, a new filter will on course improve things. Anyway I tried "just in case". We are always looking for a magic bullet. I think an extra 35 HP will be a real magic bullet (915is).
