Wife and I are going. Had to convince her to attend last year, and turns out she had a blast! So we already booked a hotel this year. (I don't enjoy dry camping and porta potties!)
May fly into Fond Du Lac, but if wx is iffy, we'll just fly commercial.
It would be great to have a Tecnam owners dinner!

I plan on flying in. Probably just the first part of the week. A dinner sounds great - let's see how many others respond.

There are at least 2 coming from New Zealand, me and the owner of ZK-AST (top of forum). We're staying in Fond du Lac. Would be great to meet some fellow owners.

I am going. not flying my Tecnam however. We definitely need to set up an evening at a bar somewhere. I am there the first half of the week, probably Monday thru Wednesday. I suppose we could keep in touch on TWITTER at Oshkosh. That would make it easy to arrange a meeting place where we could all show up at the appointed time.
Could we not set up a Twitter location called "TecnamTalk" where we could communicate? Anyone know how to do that? I don't use Twitter much so do not know how, but it cannot be difficult as everyone in the would uses Twitter extensively except me. Some of you must be Twitter experts.
Hey Hyperion, you flying your Tecnam? You would only need to carry about 500 gallons of fuel. Been to New Zealand a couple times. Love that place. I inadvertently stumbled into a nude beach once and was SO embarrassed. I had no clue. Obviously the locals are used to us bumbling tourists. Anyway you will enjoy Oshkosh. You will not run out of things to do and experience.

I don't use twitter but we use Messenger for our group comms. It works well on phones. I could setup a group if you like - all I need is your Facebook ids. (send via message for privacy)
I would love to fly to OSH but it would be quite a challenge - including my aircraft not fitting your LSA category. A fellow hanger mate went in 2012 by shipping his Falco to San Diego. Another RG from here has been to Australia and back (via 2 island hops).

I have created a Messenger group Tecnam@Oshkosh 2017. Just send me your Facebook ID (usually of the form firstname.lastname.xx) to be included. Anyone member can add others also. To access use www.messenger.com or download the app to your phone/pad.

I will be there, probably with a P2006T or a P2010. Tecnam US will have the normal setup I suppose. I agree on getting everyone together for a Tecnam Dinner. I will lobby for something of this nature and let you guys know!.
See ya there!,

Thought I'd post a photo of the Tecnam crew from North Shore, Auckland NZ. From left to right Rodger Coleclough, John Crone, Paul Carran and Marta Camargo. All except Rodger are definitely coming to Oshkosh. We have created a Messenger group you can be connected to by sending me your facebook id.

Had dinner at Friar Tuck's in Fond du Lac. The group from New Zealand was there, (John, Paul and Marta), Mark Gregor, and me (Cluemeister) and Mrs. Cluemeister. Geobuff was hoping to attend, but was not able to make it.
We had a great discussion on flying in New Zealand, and their specific Tecnams (an Astore and a retractable gear Sierra). As usual, great company, and now new friends. Another reason it's great to be a pilot!

Another place you might try Clue is Jim and Linda's in the town of Pipe. It's on the other side of the lake from Oshkosh. It's right on the water. Real nice views across the lake to the west.
