Anyone planning to fly-in somewhere to view the eclipse on 8/21?
Here's the path overlaid on a sectional chart: Solar Eclipse Map

It's running right through East Tennessee, but I'll be in Florida at the Rotax seminar that day! Talk about bad timing.

I'm fortunate to be in Casper Wyoming that day for work. Supposed to be one of the best viewing locations.

KRHP looks like a good option for us.

My daughter lives in Bowling Green Ky. It will only last a little over two minutes. I want to try to see the shadow which will be moving at 1,500 MPH. Ed

I think I waited too long to fly for it ... most of the airports in the totality path are booked for the event. Someone was advertising a room on COPA for $900 total, two day minimum, for that two minute event near some airport ... crazy stuff!!

KRHP looks like a good option for us. Wx permitting, we're planning on flying into RHP tomorrow around lunchtime. Selling the extra pair of eclipse glasses we have will probably cover the cost of fuel for the trip. LOL

KRHP looks like a good option for us. 136 aircraft was the final count. Not a chance in hell getting flight following out of there yesterday. ATC = "don't even ask."
