My plane is now at 250 hours and is a couple of months past 3 years: does this need to be a preventative item when I go in for my annual in December?

My plane is now at 250 hours and is a couple of months past 3 years: does this need to be a preventative item when I go in for my annual in December? If it was my plane, I would absolutely have it looked at. It should be easy to see if your lines are hard and brittle. Good Luck Glenn

The pic below is how my vent line is attached to the tank. Does anyone know if this is how the factory attaches the vent line or do the zip ties indicate the vent line might have been replaced prior to my ownership? Here are the pics of my broken lines. As you can see mine was only zip tied once from the factory. PS - Italy is now involved in this discussion. I'll keep the group posted of my findings.

It would be very informative if someone with a newer plane like a 2016 or 2017 could post a pic of their vent line attachment point to see if there is a new method/line used by the factory. Mine looks factory but canโt be sure.

Here are my two vent lines. I have a 2016 P2008. But Lockwood repaired them, so I never saw them broken. I've also attached what the cover plate looks like with mogas stains around it!

Iโm assuming my vent line has already been repaired based on the photos in this thread. Seems like a pretty common issue and will be on my annual checklist to check for vent line brittleness.

Here are my two vent lines. What is that on the leading edge of your pitot tube?

It is rust on the vertical section.

It is rust on the vertical section. No rust on mine! Glad I had Sebring paint it.

They denied the warranty claim. I ended up repairing it myself.

They denied the warranty claim. I ended up repairing it myself. Wow.That's surprising. I'll be looking at mine sometime in the next 24 hours. I don't think anyone has every checked them. I'll let you know what I find.

Noticed some MOGAS stains on the fuselage yesterday and found a broken fuel vent line: View AttachmentLooks like it just snapped in half. Here's the repair I made. It appears to be holding for now. View AttachmentHas anyone else experienced this? I Just experienced this I had fuel pissing out both wings Before and after I gave it a little extra slack to compensate for expansion and contraction. This particular line allows you to apply a small amount of heat to expand the ends. Slide it on it contracts as it cools then add a two Zip ties for 200% security 1-25-2023 The Airplane is a 2018 Ser# 143 I just completed the annual in Sept 2022 all good. Then this just happed and yes, the clear connectors were hard. I used a Tygon F-4040-A fuel tubing I have used this in many other applications it lasts for years a stays flexible. And priced right you can find it on Amazonโฆ. Ray & Lucy ๐โ๏ธ๐บ๐ธโ
