Not you personaly, your plane. I’m taking a pole. What is your plane’s empty weight?

My logs say 880. I own scales and in reality it’s about forty over that.

The empty weight issue has always been a curiosity for me. I really wanted the chute in my plane but got concerned about the weight so I skipped it. I have always wondered how those of you with chutes deal with this. Aren't the chutes about 30 lbs?. If true that would put my plane at 933 lbs. The only thing my plane has different than most of you is Dynon instead of Garmin. I am a small guy and its a challenge for me to keep the planes weight down. I am baffled how a new 2008 with the fancy insides and chute is only 2 lbs heavier than mine.

I'm puzzled as to why the P2008 and Astore are so heavy. My P2002 RG is only 319kg or 703lb - that includes retractable gear and CSU but no parachute. According to the panel at least - I've haven't actually weighed it myself.

Short answer.
Every fuselage is a different weight. The more careful they are to not use excess resin the lighter the aircraft will be. Lighter airframes are used for more heavily optioned aircraft.
