I’ve been lurking on this site for a while so time to come out. Flew my new bird home from the dealer a few days ago. It has an MT constant speed prop, yes we are allowed to have them in LSAs in Australia. Also have fuel flow but need to fly a few more hours to confirm accuracy This photo is in cruise ,managed a steady 125 TAS. and max continuous showed 130 TAS Attachments:

Welcome Whitey Don’t be afraid to run the 914 at higher power. At 35” and 5450rpm you should get close to 140kts with a constant speed. i’ve run My 914 at these settings for over 800hrs. it will use a little over 7gph. Ed

Whitey-
First of all, congratulations on your new airplane.
I'm trying to get fuel flow on the Garmin G3X in my Astore. In the U.S., we need a letter of authorization to do that. They've asked for a lot of information, and we've forwarded it to them, but the one thing that's holding everything back is that they want a diagram of exactly how and where the 2 transducers will be mounted. Do you have any drawings or, if possible and probably even better, when you have a chance, could you take a photo of each transducer in a way that shows how they're attached to the engine or firewall as well as where they've been tied into the fuel linesor? It would be MUCH appreciated.

Thanks for the tip Ed. I have some experimenting to do but it will have to wait for a while as I fly out tomorrow to visit your great country for some touring around then to Chicago on 18 July before going to Oshkosh for a few days i have attached 3 photos of the fuel transducer for montanapilot. The one fitted in the supply line is attached to the heat shield for fuel pumps, the return line transducer (bad photo) is about 6 in before the return line enters the firewall and appears cable tied to something. Will have to remove cowls for better photo if you need one. Transducers have been fitted for years here in Oz. It’s a long way between fuel stops in the outback so need have accurate fuel use I requested the factory to install. They declined because they had never done one before but the local dealer told me a few days ago Tecnam have now included transducer installations as an option.

Welcome Whitey. Send us some pics inside and out. You can post them under the Eye Candy section. Curious.... since your rules seem to be different where you are what is your max takeoff weight? Just wondering if its different than the US LSA standards.
Thanks

Thanks so much for the photos, Whitey. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner but I've been out of town for morning through late evening meetings and unable to check e-mails.
Much appreciated!

Hi Whitey, Welcome and congratulations! Interesting news about the transducers. If transducers are a now a factory option maybe LOAs for older P2008s would be a no brainer?

LOA for transducer from Tecnam should not be an issue as lots fitted in Oz. Also had one on my previous 912 powered machine Note that for 912 you do not need a second transducer in the return line as the return flow is minimal and is easily allowed for in the K factor when setting up and is surprisingly accurate

Ed Thanks I would love to catch up and checkout your unique setup 18,19,20 July suits me so whatever day works for you. I flew in a Bristell a few weeks ago powered by the new 915is and with constant speed prop. I thought it’s performance was disappointing I will try and post a few photos but in summary it’s seemed about 10 knots faster than the 912 version and drank another 10lph. ( that’s about 2.6 gals for you guys) Not sure the owner had the correct pitch v boost setup but nonetheless I was underwhelmed. Cheers

I assume those pictures are from the 915 powered plane. As you can see my engine has great performance. Ed
