Hey y’all, what’s the highest airport y’all have operated from before in your P2008’s? My Dad and I took a trip into Smiley Creek, ID a few weeks ago. Elevation is 7,206’ MSL. We had 39.8” of manifold at 5500 RPM for about one minute until our boost lowered to 36” while at 200’ AGL. I believe the airbox temperature got above 162 F and limited the TCU then limited boost. This is where an intercooler would be very welcome! Also, starting was a little bit more difficult at that altitude which could be explained by the diaphragms in the carbs? These are two instances where a 915 iS would be oh so sweet!
The 914 runs like clockwork and is such a little marvel of an engine. I’m a huge fan of it and excited to see where Tecnam goes in the future with the 915 iS.
Anyways, have y’all experienced anything like this? The plane was still 1,000 AGL on downwind which was impressive!

You have me beat. The highest I’ve landed my P2008 is Santa Fe NM. It’s about 6400’. many years ago I landed my Bonanza at Leadville Co which is over 9900’. Ed

Evanston Wyoming elevation 7142 with a density altitude of 8200. I don't recall the performance numbers on the 914 but it performed very well. No issues with loosing boost.
