Has anyone had a 914 that would drop the manifold pressure by 5-6” 15-30seconds on engaging it

Are talking about going past the gate to full throttle and 40”map? The turbo is working in all throttle positions regardless of where the throttle is. If it was a hot day it’s possible the intake air temp went above the preset limit of the TCU in which case it would pull manifold pressure.
If you were at normal full throttle and 35” and it lost map then something is wrong possibly a turbo hose leak.

Have you checked your wastegate to see if it's closing all the way?
