Greetings from the non-owner. I was surfing the net today continuing my research and came across an event involving a P2002 but impacting the P2008. It seems after a gear collapse on the P2002 a recurring inspection on the main landing gear was put in place every 50 hours. This was extended to the P2008 as a result of having a similar main landing gear. So the two big questions are:
1) Is this inspection still required? 2) What other recurring inspections (other than the "annual") must be performed on the P2008? How frequently?
Thanks!

Perhaps Mark can chime in on this one. I'm not aware of any landing gear inspections outside of the annual.

Tecnam posts all of their Technical Documentation on their website under the Owner's Section: My TecnamI read SB 066-CS & SB 214-CS and could not see where it applies to the P2008. I'll let Mark confirm.

The gear referred to in this bulletin has not been used on the P2008 since 2012. I believe there is only 3-4 P2008 with that style gear here in the US.
That gear was plenty strong also. Possibly some were not heat treated properly this the inspection as I have never seen one fail.

Thanks Mark! With the accident report being from 2015,generally referencing the P2008 on pages 7 and 8, and referring to the 50 hour inspections it made me wonder.
Any other recurring inspections required for the P2008?

Any other recurring inspections required for the P2008? I just logged in to the Owners portal and did not see any for my P2008. I'll let Mark confirm.

I see you are like me, researching, not a plane owner yet. Here is what I found out about topics pertaining to maintenance. Every thing you want to know is in the Maintenance Manual that Tecnam keeps under private keys only. You call Bridget at Tecnam FL and ask here how to get access. She will help but it then goes to Italy where they will want you to fill out more forms that do not apply to you. I left VM for Bridget but nothing yet, it is the Holidays... I am also looking into several other brands and they have been very helpful. I asked one for their maintenance manual and got a it via dropbox in less than 20 minutes. Tecnam is not going to change; too busy, too rich and too far away. I have decided that they probably have the "best" LSAs and you must accept the fact that they "corporate" are not very responsive. See other posting about paint... This has been a long standing issue with minor improvements over the past few years as I have read in other forums and here. FYI: Did you know that the Tecnam warranty date begins on the day the dealer accepts the aircraft, not on the date you purchase? Fortunately, Tecnam dealers are trying to make up the difference and that works in most cases.
