Hi All,
I was really tired of wiping the exhaust trail off the belly it really was an eye sore especially on the white paint and lot of elbow grease after every Flt! to remove it. I went to a local custom exhaust shop had them make this stainless steel deflector it took a couple of tryβs to get the right look and angle, but it turned out great! An absolutely no more wiping of the belly. It has a simple stainless band for easy removal to be able to pull the cowl for maintenance.........β

. Seems like a good idea! Maybe just spray it black with some high-temp quality black spray paint. Would look a lot better IMO.

Also, any chance you could ask them to make you another one exactly the same for me? I'd PayPal you the cash and give you a FedEx account # to ship it.

Hi Calmblueskies,
I would be happy to do that, but the exhaust shop that did the work to be blunt were really a pain Bleep - Bleep to work with ( I made several trips trial and error ) I had to practically plead With them to fabricate It for me. The ( airplane ) exhaust is 1.5 inch in diameter. I had them make a slotted sleeve 2.75 inch in length and expand it to 1.75 inches in diameter to fit over the 1.5 inch exhaust and weld that back on to the 1.5 inch exhaust pipe extension approximately 12 inches total. The pictures should give you a pretty good idea. And now you have the basic dimensions. Find I good custom exhaust shop and tell them what you would like to do. Show them the pictures of mine that should make It pretty painless unlike what I went through to get it right. The clamp is a 1/2 stainless removable exhaust clamp any custom exhaust shop should be able to fabricate it for you easily...... I hope this helps you ?

Thanks for the input on an exhaust extension. I think that's the way to go. I was burning mogas on my 8 hr. trip south. Had a small oil streak from the oil tank vent. BTW, the brown residue melts off with carbon X. My SR22 Cirrus would get a gray deposit from the lead in the exhaust. Bit more difficult to remove than the brown stain from the 914.

I use simple green on my P92. Spray it on, wipe it off. Works great.

I just added a short length of straight SS pipe to the existing tail pipe.
