The last several months I’ve noticed intermittent high pressure (4.8-5.1) indications on my fuel pressure indicator. (Garmin G3X) They come and go quickly. Occasionally on climb out but usually in normal cruise above 5,000 feet —at least that is when I notice them—any fuel level and either wing tank. Changing from one wing to the other doesn’t seem to change the green red green as it does it thing for a couple of minutes. RPM is usually 5200-5400. I do not use my fuel pump at all.
Has anyone else had this issue? It hasn’t gotten noticeably worse, it will go green to red then back again a few times then not do it again.
I appreciate the feedback.

I have had the same issue since I changed the fuel pressure transducer about 600 hrs ago. I believe it to be a transducer issue rather than a fuel pressure problem. Thanks Jim

Stroud,
So is there anything I should do? Is there a risk if I do nothing?

I do not think it will be an issue, as long as it does not change, I had to replace the differential fuel pressure transducer due to it reading low fuel pressure, but the actual pressure was normal when I checked with a pressure gage. After changing the transducer I started having the same reading as you. I would monitor the pressure, if does not change I would let it go.

What are you guys flying? ULS or iS? If it’s a ULS, change the EFIS alarm trigger in configurations. I think the ULS high limit is 7+psi, before you get an EFIS alarm.

The Kavlico sender can fail and leak fuel past the wiring. They usually fail without leakage but it would be good to run the boost pump while checking the sender (engine off). I'd replace the sender with a new one to fix the issue.

Thanks for the link to the bulletin. I've not experienced a leak but I did replace the Kavlico P4055-15G due to erratic behavior. Next time I'll try the new part #.
