Anyone have any experience and if Tecnam has authorized a GTN650 to be installed in P2008? Also any areas of concern with antenna mounting etc. I would like to use P2008 for IFR training (non IMC).

I have a GTN650 on my 2015 P2008. I am the second owner. The original owner purchased the 650 as part of his initial delivery—it was all done in Florida after the plane was assembled before delivery to him.
I can’t speak to the aftermarket install, but it is part of the P2008 normal upgrade equipment list. I’ve not had any issues with my setup.

Thanks Mike I see you may be in Chicagoland as well who do you use for your maintenance, who did you have do your pre buy inspection if you do not mind me asking. Are you still happy with your P2008? Very close to pulling the trigger on one if I can find hangar space at KPWK.

Alan, I’m very happy with my purchase decision. I went into it totally cold and ignorant as a first time buyer but the integrity of Mark Gregor was my salvation. As to the P2008 it is an incredibly versatile airplane and I have no regrets. I’m no longer principally in the Chicago area but I did use Midwest SkySport when I was there. They are near Saginaw: a bit of a haul but they are great folks and know Rotax and Tecnam airplanes. I understand there are also a couple of good Rotax centers in central Wisconsin but I did not have an occasion to use them. Good luck with your decision! Also, you might consider Coleman Aviation at Gary airport for your hangar needs. I was there a couple of years or so and very happy with them as a company.
