Anyone else considering a purchase? I like the 215 HP engine and overall price but am concerned with the Garmin equip as some is already over 10 years old and discontinued.

Or maybe the smarter move is to a Jet A (diesel) engine since there is talk at Oshkosh about leased fuel going away. So the P2010 TDI maybe?

I was excited about the P2010 coming onto the market. When it arrived, the speeds were too slow, and the avionics were limited in features.
There have been a few owners on the forum, but the model has never gained a large following. YMMV

Well I have confirmed Tecnam P2010 is now using G1000 NXi Phase 2 tech and not the older technology so I'm going to order a P2010 with 215 HP engine. Couldn't be happier with my decision.

I have a demo flight tomorrow and if all goes well, as expected, I will order a new P2010 from my local Tecnam dealer. I will start a new Thread when I place a deposit and post experience and progress!

Hi everyone, I just joined a few minutes ago. I am considering purchasing a p2010 and haven’t decided which model yet. So far the TDI looks very promising, but I am disappointed on the low is the usable load at 800 lbs. I understand with the diesel engine you don’t require as much fuel (weight). On the other hand the p2019-180 hp has about 865 lbs UL, but it burns 11-14 gph, so a lot of UL go for fuel. Are those burn rates right? I have never flown in a 2010. I have been flying Skyhawks S models with basically same engine (lycoming fuel injected 180 hp) and at 70% power it burns around 9-10 gph, granted at a slightly slower speed. But what really got me thinking is the 172 is 1950’s design and Tecnam is much more modern and much more aerodynamic, why such discrepancy in fuel burn? Can someone share ideas? Thanks.

The TDI has had a recent gross weight increase. Just took delivery of N435K last week and flew it home. Happy to answer questions as well.

And the Engine TBR has also increased to 1800hrs i believe. It has. But like any motor, it’s not really done until it starts making metal. Always send oil samples in for testing.
