This ex-Cirrus owner is still looking forward to a test flight in the P2008. It's not easy to find one. Not like the Cirrus world where each sales rep has a demo and would be able to schedule a test just about any time. I was booked today at a flight school (in a non-turbo P2008, even though I think I'd want the turbo) 2.5 hours' drive away -- who ever heard of having to pay for two hours of plane rental and instructor time just to get a test flight??!! -- but they canceled me due to maintenance. I now am holding two time slots next Wednesday and Thursday, hopefully weather will cooperate and I'll be able to keep one of those times. Hopefully I'll like the plane ...I have now spoken with four former Cirrus owners who have moved to the P2008.

I’ve found it extremely difficult to access a demo flight too. Been researching Tecnam P2008 since Sept 2021. This is a uniquely difficult aircraft to get a demo or even buy Some of that is due to the GA industry being in a interesting state with demand way higher than supply. Aircraft that one would not even consider airworthy a couple of years ago are now selling in days.

Why not go to Sebring? First anyone ever suggested it to me. Do they have demo models there? I did write the Tecnam national director of sales several weeks ago but he never replied.

Yes, they do have demo models there. Plus, you can see other planes that are passing through enroute to new owners. The stated goal of the Sebring facility was to have one of each model available. When I was shopping, I went there and flew a 2008 and Astore. Just call them skip the email.

+ 1 on the Sebring suggestion or if you're ever in the Atlanta area, I'd be happy to give you a demo.

I just bought a P2010 from Mark Woods, Delta Aviation. He was and continues to be super responsive. His cell is 810-417-9950. I'm sure he'd take a call or text from you.

Hi Fpkone, I am glad Mark Woods is taking good care of you………. And continues to do so……… Just FYI when I flew to Mankato MN 2019 to purchase my new P-2008 “SOME HOW “ Mr. Mark Woods got wind and found out that I was buying my New 2019 - P-2008 from Mark Gregor In Mankato MN. He Mark Woods felt that because I was in his sales area in ( Las Vegas ) I needed to purchase a New P-2008 from him! My sale in Mankato should have taken a few days, Thanks to Mr. Woods it delayed my sale for a week! and he wanted Mark Gregor to pay him ( part of the sale ) $20,000.00 if I bought my New P-2008 in Mankato! I know it’s hard to comprehend, but I had to write to Walter Dacosta ( Third from the top of Tecnam management) in Italy, Bridget ( Sebring head secretary)in Florida, And Spoke several times with Shannon ( Former sales Director ) who complicated the sale even further! In the end Bridgette called Walter Dacosta for authorization to call Mark Woods and tell him not to interfere with my sale…… So between Hotel cost and my lost wages because of Mr. Woods I figure he cost me about $3500.00 and almost got his cut of $20,000.00 Mark Gregor’s sale! What kind of ethics does Mr. Mark Woods have? I will let you decide…… if this did not happen to me I wouldn’t have believed it possible for such a situation to take place! I can’t speak for Mark Gregor, but I believe this was a deciding factor why Mark Gregor’s not selling any more Tecnam Aircraft….. As far as I am concerned Mark Gregor was and is the best thing that ever happened to Tecnam and why he sold the most Aircraft Bar None! Mark was a true asset to Tecnam and he has helped most of us on this forum in one way or another and always did his best to assist us…….I consider him a true friend, I am sure those of you that know Mark feel the same way 😊😊😊😊 Ray & Lucy 👍🏻🎄🇺🇸🎁✈️😊✅🙏

Well Cole505 that was not a good experience, for sure! But it does sound like Tecnam has territories they sell by... Or do they? Tecnam can't have it both ways. Personally, I like that I can buy a Dodge from any Dodge dealer as I usually get the best deal that way. This being my first new plane it seems I had to buy from the Tecnam dealer for my State. Luckily no problems (yet?)

I live in Maryland. I contacted Mark and he's been a great resource though he was very clear in saying he is not able to sell to me, given where I live. Frankly I've had a heck of a time figuring out who I'm supposed to deal with, having spoken now with a dealer in Virginia, a dealer in North Carolina, and trying to engage Dave Copeland at HQ. I may ultimately go to Sebring, we'll see. First things first, I am test flying a P2008 later this week at a flight school in Pennsylvania. Am likely to fly a Bristell later next week.

Hi All,
I Figured I would chime in on the squawks for N356X ……… I probably have had the most unfortunately, along with the Big sales issue $3500.00 out my pocket THANKS to Mr.MARK WOODS just to start off with…… all of the following took place while under full factory warranty…..
1. Chipped vertical tail on the very top nothing major about the size of a $50 cent piece and a damaged front nose wheel pant Mark Gregor took care of those personally and paid for the repair in full $860.00
2. Cracked exhaust pipe and retaining bracket Tecnam sent the parts and paid 1/2 hour $45.00 labor even thou it to 2 hours for the repair……
3. Burned through oil return line ( In Flt Emergency) Tecnam bought a new line, But refused any labor telling me it was my fault the oil line was strapped directly to the exhaust manifold. Just Darn Lucky I did not trash a new 80 hour engine…… landed at the near by airport by pure luck. 8 hours on the ground to remove and replace the line.
4. Warped glare shield, Tecnam did send a new replacement and Paid 1/2 hour labor $45.00 . It took about 8 hours to remove and cut to fit the new glare shield. The replacement did the same thing still waiting on this one.. To be resolved……
5. Oil temperature molex plug pin came lose in Flt gave erroneous temperature readings I called Brett at leading edge Airfoils he got me on the right track and I did have Tecnam $215.00 send a new sensor, but sent it back once I found the lose pin. One hour of my time to replace pin…. no labor from Tecnam ……
6. Stabilator bolts installed were to short from the factory, bearings we’re riding on the bolt threads causing a lot of up and down nose pitch. Josh sent new bolts, washers and lock nuts. Tecnam paid one hour of labor $95.00 ……… took about 10 hours for the bolt replacement………
7. Radio squeal and Non compliant IN OPERABLE ADSB OUT from the factory, got a call from the FAA letting me know the ADSB had never worked from the first day the aircraft was put into service. Got a special waver to Fly the airplane to an authorized Garmin repair facility. The radio and VOR antennas connectors were reversed. ADSB Connector pin 29 was bent, replaced connector … Total cost $4000.00 3.5 hour Flt each way ( RYN ) field and three days in a hotel. Tecnam paid $1150.00………..
8. Wrong carburetor floats installed from the Factory Fuel pissing out of the carb drain lines. Called leading edge airfoils Spoke with Brett. He sent new carb gaskets, O rings, and new floats. Parts cost me $500.00 Flied a claim with Rotax with the help from Brett took four months got reimbursed $420.00 no labor paid. Took me 8 hours to remove and replace four carb floats with the right ones…….
Took me about the last two years to complete most of this, one item still pending and it all started from day one of my Flt back to Las Vegas from Mankato MN. Heck I was hoping for a month of trouble free flying especially buying a brand new Airplane…….. Oh and the best for last Tecnam was only going to give me one year of factory warranty because Mark had the airplane in his inventory for a year. Tecnam’s policy is the warranty go’s into effect to WHO ever first receives the airplane in this case Mark Gregor. So I spent a few months dealing with Walter Dacosta explaining the warranty situation. I asked him did I buy a new airplane or a used airplane he said I did buy a new airplane. So I asked him again do all new Tecnam aircraft come with a two year 200 hour warranty he said Yes. Any way after several months of emails the board the big guns voted to GRANT my two year warranty request!
I said wow! Finally they actually voted to give me something that should have been automatically enforce with the purchase of my new 2018 P-2008
Please feel free to chime in! Happy to answer any and all questions…… Hope this helps some of you especially those of you considering buying a new Tecnam……
Ray & Lucy 👍🏻✅🎁🙏😊🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🎄✈️

Thanks for sharing your experience. Perhaps an alternative strategy for a new buyer is to buy a well maintained used airplane, out of warrantee. Pocket the substantial initial cost savings earmarked now for upkeep & maintenance. I did that with my Astore and while the trim choice is a little compromise, I had $60K more in the bank account. I'd gladly pay the freight for a new unit and was considering a trade in ....... right up to now. Think I'll just polish up what I have!

Yes, I totally agree with you buying a good used airplane ✈️ and I did that with my 2012 P-2008 I flew it for five years and traded it in on my new 2018 P-2008. Unfortunately I had the same experience with the used airplane………. Mostly I wanted to check my bucket list off with the purchase of a brand new airplane hoping I would not have to start repairing my airplane from day one……. I am very happy to hear you had a very positive experience with your Astore an kept $60,000.00 in your pocket nice work! Ray & Lucy 👍🏻👍🏻✈️😊🇺🇸🎁🎄🎄🎁🎄🎁🎄
