Has anyone had to replace the clear tape that holds the brake line to the steel spring-leaf struts? If so, what type did you use?

Has anyone had to replace the clear tape that holds the brake line to the steel spring-leaf struts? If so, what type did you use? The tape is absurd. I bought the correct tape and retapped and then realized this is ridiculous that I’m taping brake lines to hold them on. Buy these adhesive cable tie squares, stick two to the back of each main gear and then just use a white cable tie to hold the line. Looks infinitely cleaner and won’t require regular replacement. www.amazon.com/dp/B08HR914NK

Thanks, I'll try that. I've got a few zip ties on there now, but they do slide down.

Keep it super simple. Been using it over 10 year never a problem…..it was on the airplane when you flew with me …….its so clear its hard to notice its on the landing gear…….. My plane had some clear tape that was cracking and looked bad. I cleaned it up removing all of the residue with the various glue removal products. The glues used in the tapes over time discolored the paint a bit, so I used a white tape from the sailplane world: www.cumulus-soaring.com/store/bowlus-tape-white-2in?search=bowlus . I used a couple of layers first on the edge between the brake line and rear of the strut so that the line did not rest directly on the strut. I then used only 1 wrap of the tape starting from the back of the strut moving backward, overlapping the brake line, then forward over the front of the leg strut finishing in the rear of the strut. It looks clean. The tape stands up to UV and the elements well. d.
