We fly our 2010 at our flight school approx. 3 times for 2 hour flights in the morning. It starts fine, in the mornings on these flights. However when we try to start the plane in the afternoon, it will not start. Seems like the heat from outside or the engine heat is correlating this but not sure. We have replaced the solenoid and still having the same issue. We believe we it could be the starter. Anyone else having the same issues?

Where are you located? Outside temp in the afternoon? Type engine? Carburated?

Try the lycoming hot start procedure. Also open your oil door when you park. It vents the hot air out of the cowling which helps.

So may switch that out too.

Which is a black box mounted on the fire wall in the engine bay. I had the same problem.
