Does your oil and coolant ever run hot? I see 245F oil temp on my climbs at 85KIAS and it only drops to about 235F usually when in cruise. On the ground, I usually see about 228F in coolant temp. I'm curious if any other Astore owners have hot temps. I have the 912iS in mine.

I think we may be the last two 912iS guys on here. I fly a P2008 and have never had any cooling issues. Where are you based?
PS - Happy to chat iS stuff if you ever have any questions. I personally have 1,300 hours on mine now.

What speed and fuel burn do you get with the 912IS in your P2008? At what rpm? Also is your engine an original IS or the IS Sport? Ed

Typically I set the cruise at whatever gets me 4 gph. The rpms and TAS fluctuate based on altitude, OAT, etc. On average 110-115 kts. I'll push it harder if I'm on a schedule.

That’s really economical. Over 30mph I have an Edge Performance 912STI with 155hp Economy cruise for me is 130kts at 6.8gph. If I push it over 140kts it 8.4gph. As the cost of fuel goes up I fly slower. Ed

I usually see 116/117 KTAS at 4.3gph. That's the max I can go before it kicks out of econo mode.

On warm days climb my oil can get as high as 240 degrees. That will pull the coolant temp up to around 220. Once level the coolant will go back under 200 and the oil will settle in around 220. I cruise climb at 110kts and 500fpm. The best fuel burn I can get is 5.5gph using 28”map and 5200rpm. This setting will give me 115ktas. Ed

I cruise climb at 85kts and 450fpm. Climbing at Vy in my Astore isn't possible without sending the oil to temperatures of the sun.

I'm curious if any other Astore owners have hot temps. I have the 912iS in mine. Yes. I have the Rotax 914 and recently had a high temperature reading on CHT's of around 245, almost at redline. The oil temp however, remained where it normally does and did not spike. Since I was on the way to the SouthTec service center in NC I simply throttled back and made a reasonably short trip into a long one. I asked them to look at it when I got there and they found that the two CHT probe connections on the top of the 914 were slightly corroded and failing to make good contact. The connections were cleaned with solvent and reinstalled and the problem disappeared.
