A small contribution to start off the P-Mentor pages. Just over 50 hours up now and really enjoying flying our demonstrator. The 130 litres (32.5 gal) gives a great range with a cross country fuel burn of 17 - 18 litres per hour, (4.25 gal to 4.5 gals/hr) TAS at lower levels has been 110 to 113 kts. Empty weight with GFC 500 autopilot/Yaw Damper option is 457 kg (1007lbs) and MTOW 720 kg (1587 lbs) We did not order a ballistic parachute, however this weighs around 20kg (44 lbs) Regards Bruce www.dropbox.com/s/urzof6ilu9bwysg/Australian%20Flying%20%20P-Mentor%20Test%20Flight.pdf?dl=0Attachments:

Hallo,
I trailed a P-mentor for around 25 hours in Europe and decided to buy myself one as I am starting my instrument training after finishing my PPL in april 2023. I see the same performance as tecnamoz already mentioned with a 17-18l/h cross-country usage at speeds above the 100kts at 1500ft-2000ft. The plane is not a speedster but it is remarkably stable yet very responsive so fun to fly. I did buy one with a chute though. It is costing me 22kg of useful load but if I go up with 2 people that limits my time to 4.5h for a leg and when I go alone, fuel is not a factor anymore. Also my area is relatively dense (either buildings or trees) and the airspace structure forces us to fly low to the ground most of the time, so a chute as a last resort measure makes sense.
No technical issues to speak off as of yet, but the plane only has 85 hours in total as it stands.
Regards

Having a chute always makes sense: like aircraft insurance you hope you never need it but if you do and it’s not there….
