www.regulations.gov/document/FAA-2022-0891-0041This is a new AD pertaining to turbocharged engines, specifically the exhaust system from the turbocharger and exhaust pipes. While Rotax 914, 915, 916 are not specifically mentioned, it’s worth ensuring that the welds do not crack, creating an unsafe condition in the engine compartment. I did have this issue and it was not visible unless the cowling was off, the engine-exhaust was at operating temp, and you were specifically looking at the pipe from a specific angle. (The observation angle peering into the engine compartment will not let you see this one.) My A&P and I were working on a different issue and he—luckily—saw the issue while we were doing a runup. The fix, in my case, was to purchase a new exhaust pipe —thanks, again, Ray—and they are not cheap.

The AD is for Band Clamps which Rotax doesn’t use. No worries for us. Ed
