Just ordered a P2008 with a 912i engine. The POH says: APPROVED FUEL ∗ Min. RON 95 Is that the same as premium octane 93? I don’t want to assume incorrectly.
For those of you who travel cross country, do you revert back to 100LL? I coming from a Bonanza background and I don’t ever recall seeing MoGas at any airport.

Congrats and welcome to TT. 91 octane or higher is all you need. Where are you located? Click here for airport MOGAS locations in the US: Fly Unleaded

In the US 91 is all you need. When flying cross country I generally use only Avgas. If I see a rusty old mogas pump I usually pass as I don’t know how long it’s been there. I do buy Swift UL94 when I see it. Ed

Thanks for the fuel confirmation. I have a 40 gal tank in the bed of my pickup that I now can fill it with mogas for the 2008!😃 Next question - where in the world do I find a mechanic to perform the annual and address inevitable engine/plane squawks? Most mechanics won’t work on the Rotax. I’m located in northern Michigan. The aircraft will be based at KSJX.

TEK, you don't want a regular A&P doing anything on your Rotax unless they have been through Rotax training. Ask about their Rotax certifications and if they are current. Otherwise could be a big costly mistake. Quite a few of us here have gone through ROTAX training at Lockwood Aviation in Florida or some other location. It's good to know the important differences between Rotax and Lycoming or Continental engines. rotaxirmt.com/locatorwww.rotax-owner.com/en/flightsafety/641-ai641

This Web site has a list of Rotax repair locations and IRMT's. It is not always up to date but it's a start. Also consider an A&P if they have gone ahead and gotten Rotax training. A proper annual condition involves a lot more than just the motor. rotaxirmt.com
