I am not thrilled about being needy...
Greetings Airmen, apologies if I seem a little testy.
We have a turbo Astore (Rotax 914UL2) and in doing the five year rubber refresh, I need the parts numbers for the oil and fuel hoses. I am informed that they are airframe specific and MUST be ordered from Italy Tecnam factory... Three week delay
Does anyone know of a hose shop that can fabricate these hoses in USA instead?
Tecnam USA sent me the IPC and AMM for a 912ULS powered Astore.
Regardless, their isn't any turbo oil hoses illustrated in that parts catalog.
Any assistance or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Call Lockwood in Sebring. I think they sell a kit.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
Lockwood does have Rotax 5 year parts, sure. There are Tecnam five year rubber parts that are airframe installation specific. There in, lies my conundrum.
Tecnam USA in Sebring sent me the AMM and IPC for Astore with 912 engines and I need the manuals for the 914 engines installed in the Astore

These guys are fantastic at making up custom hoses. I had my 912ULS done with the integral fire covered teflon hoses. You can label, remove and send them the old lines and they will send you back what you need, in a reasonable time frame. at fair prices. www.aircraftspecialty.com

Precision Hose Technology.
If they don't already have a kit, they will work with you to make one and then your fellow Tecnam owners will be happy. And it will be your fault.
Good luck!

I completed the coolant, fuel, and oil hose replacement on out Astore with the help of Technam in Sebring, Florida. The cable actuated, spring type hose clamp pliers are a must have must use (highly recommended) tool. Available on Amazon and your local auto parts store. Also the inspection of the engine and airframe for the 12 month condition inspection. Now, what should the logbook entry wording be? blah blah blah oil blah compression, blah run up, operation normal no faults noted, no leaks seen. I find this engine "compliant"

Hi Fabrigator,
Contact Roger lee he is a Master Rotax repair Instructor he did my five year rubber on my first P-2008 he does these rubber change outs routinely. He probably has all your hose sizes in stock and will provide you with the correct format for your log book entryβs 520-349-7056 or Hm 520-574-1080 or Leading Edge Air Foils WI 800-532-3462

Either should be good for the administrator. If this is a customer aircraft, maybe just treat is as NOT light sport and provide them with a list of discrepancies and send it on for the operator to deal with, if they are giving you a hassle?

I wonder about that advice... I appreciate the effort BUT, Only a US certificated airframe is issued an airworthiness certificate by the FAA/manufacturer, so that is the only entry that I sign off as airworthy. A Continental, Lycoming, Franklin, etc are "found to be in a condition for safe operation at this time" (as are propellers) and a Rotax engine is "ASTM compliant" as per training as an iRMT I am planning on calling a friend Monday morning, I'll explain what I learn, later

While a Rotax engine is ASTM compliant as opposed to Lycoming / Continental I was corrected in that the logbook signoff is still like other powered experimental aircraft in that "the engine is found to be in a condition for safe operation at this time" and that 'ASTM Compliant' is not in the verbage

ππΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈ Thank you Ray and Lucy, I have spoken with Roger at LEAF before, what a helpful source. And yes, at the time, they certainly did have all the 5 year components in stock for the Rotax engine. My 5 year inspection also included the airframe hoses and in order to not turn our SLSA aircraft into an 'experiment' required I get the airframe hoses from Tecnam as the PMA hose shops in USA don't seem to carry banjo fittings and swivel metric fittings like used on the Rotax oil tank. Tecnam in Sebring was very helpful, though there was delay in that the hoses were ordered from Europe and they had to spec which hose p/n's as the only IPC 'published' was for a 912 powered and not available for my 914. My last communication with Tecnam Sebring this last week, Josh indicated that they just received a Conex container with Astore #080 that they will be assembling in January 2024!

They even had three or four fitted with the TCM JetA engines that were in for an engine service bulletin upgrade. fwiw, I bought 11 gallons of SWIFT UL94 while I was there. $8.01 self serv
