As I mentioned in another post, small cracks in the paint were identified during my 100 hour along the line where the fuselage is put together. (For those new to this, the fuselage is molded in 2 pieces - left and right - and fused together on the centerline) It does not appear to be structural - just cosmetic. It sounds like my plane will have to have some minor composite work done as well as be repainted. Has anyone else experienced this???

Do you have any photos? How easily are they spotted?

Per your request:
Top side at windshield
Topside midway over cabin
Bottom side midway down fuselage (just to the right of the fin)

Yikes! Sorry to see this. Are you working with Tecnam and if so what is their reaction to this? How many hours total on airframe and what is your serial number?

..... new paint job is a big deal.... How so? Tecnam did authorize the new paint job yesterday. I'm going to wait until my next maintenance interval to take her in.

I have a P2008 serial #085. No signs of cracked paint. It looks like the filler they used on the seems shrank. Are you just painting the fuselage? Ed

I have 103 and less than 50 hrs. I looked close and although I can see the seam there are no cracks. Flocker did Tecnam say why this happened?

Flocker did Tecnam say why this happened? No, but I will ask. SouthTec speculated that there could have been flex in the seam area - thus cracking the paint.

Update: Dropped her off on Friday. Sanded the area where the crack was and here is what we found: There was a void in the area below the crack. We're waiting on a plan of action from Tecnam. My guess is we will fill the void and then repaint the area.
