Greg, In the 924 photo I saw where the drain on the carb's drip bowl is sealed for shipping. You need to remove that seal. Thanks, Jim Spoke to Joel at Tecnam and sent him the picture. Apparently not a shipping seal, but he said it's not supposed to be there. May be a loose piece of cloth or paper. I have not flown in 5 days, so the next time I'm in the hangar, I'll find out what it is. Thanks Jim Stroud!

Close to purchasing 2016 P2008 with G3X and Turbo 914 (no parachute). I see several among these posts that have this same Aircraft. May I ask what the POH says about payload with full fuel. I need to know if this 205 lb body can afford to eat the berry pie after Christmas dinner. Thanks in advance. Newcomer John

I'm guessing that plane weighs about 870-880 lbs. If you figure 28 gallons, you're looking at 880 empty weight plus 168 fuel = 1048.
1320 - 1048 = 272 with full fuel.
If you don't mind me asking, Is this a used aircraft or a new made to order?
Edit: If it is used, and you are still negotiating, no need to answer!

I have a deposit pending inspection. It has 80 hours in it. Great airplane. 272 means I need to lose 75 pound for my wife and I to fly naked. What's the chatter in pushing the weight envelope? Is there a blog section discussing that? I have read several comments on the SLA gross weight being arbitrary. I hold a private certificate with about 500 hrs in an F33A Bonanza. Tired of the cost per hour so I sold it 2 years ago. Miss flying. So I think this Aircraft will scratch the itch. Thanks.

Not looking to break any FAR's. Just wondering what latitude is given. As a private pilot I guess night flying is approved. Not sure what other variables involved.

Hi John, welcome and hope you get your P2008 !! I know for a fact that a P2008 with a 912IS will fly just fine from Florida to New Mexico and back loaded just under the European weight limit of 1388 but of coarse thats not what the US rules say.

During flight training with my P2008 Turbo. There was no problem with the plane being at or over gross weight. The P2008 was built to Euro Specs but was downgraded to meet US LSA specs.

Thanks for the feedback. I had heard about the European spec being more generous but did not know the 1388 value. Nice to know.

If you want a copy of the European EASA spec for the 2008, let me know. I believe it's rated at 1433 now.
