Well I love the idea of meeting up at Oshkosh next year. I don't drink but maybe some Iced Tea. Got one more e-mail from Josh today after expressing my confusion about where this new bulk hose is coming from. He confirmed that Tecnam did not reply to his question about whether or not the hose he found on the internet could be used. They did however provide the part number for Tecnams hose. So that seals the deal. If they wont ok another hose you have to buy a Tecnam hose for $237. Now hopefully we will find out tomorrow how long it will take to deliver. Amazing that it took a week and a half to come full circle and order the actual Tecnam part. Couldn't we have done this in 5 or 10 mins on my original phone call? Once I get the breakdown on the cost and hours of work associated with the hose/rubber change I will let you all know so you have something to work with. Sorry about all the messages and venting during this issue. It is cheaper than a therapist. Maybe I should be buying you guys the beer. It has been very frustrating being stuck on the ground now for 70 days during the best weather of the year. Looks like I will probably get my plane flying just about the time the fall weather sets in.

My one learning is that I’m not doing a rubber replacement at my Annual in December unless Tecnam has this figured out. +1. Mine isn't due until June 2021, but I may start assembling the parts now...

Yesterday Tecnam US told me that they had ordered the hose from Capua and that today they would find out an ETA to Sebring. Today I sent a message asking what they found out. Answer.....hasn't been shipped yet, they will contact Capua tomorrow and find out what is going on.

Buzz,
There is no excuse for any Tecnam owner to go through what you have. Your plane is not the first Tecnam to have the 5 year rubber replacement done but both Capua and Tecnam U.S is acting like it. I just can't imagine how Tecnam can build planes and not have the parts to support their product. Unbelievable!!
If Capua doesn't have the exact replacement part then there assembly line must have stopped.

Customer support was one of the early complaints about Tecnam prior to Sebring being established. Even if they don't have a specific part at Sebring the process of identifying and ordering a part should be less painful and quicker.

Well based on my experience so far I could have guessed the response from Tecnam as to the ETA for the hose. Today they tell me that Capua is out of the hose. So now they are waiting for a supplier to ship them the hose, so that Capua can ship to Sebring, so that Sebring can ship to me. How long do you think that will be? No idea. I don't understand how they can be producing planes everyday and not have the hose I need. Unbelievable. Not sure what I did to piss off the aviation gods. Yesterday I got a $5200 bill for the work and parts on my plane that still sits in an un-airworthy state. I replied that I would be declining to pay for the work related to hose/rubber replacement. For your information it looks like approx. 30+ hours for the hose/rubber work.

After responding to Tecnam about how could they be producing planes and not have a piece of hose for me, they sent me Capua's response. They said they had contacted the hose supplier to get a delivery date. They got no response back. They will try again tomorrow. This is how days turn into weeks and then months.

Problems like this is the reason I spend the time and money to take the Rotax courses, got my LSRM-A ticket and took Garmins G3X experimental course. I do all of my own work, I know it's done right.
Thanks,
Jim Stroud

Too bad we are still in the middle of covid-19. Otherwise you could fly to Capua and get the hose. LOL

Blue silicon hose has successfully arrived at Sebring. Josh says that it looks good and doesn't kink. $125 per meter. I have to go double check the length but half a meter will probably do. I will take pics and give you all the specifics when I get it. Will also confirm amount on hand at Sebring for your future use. Hope all are doing ok its been wild here south of Seattle. A lot of fires, post big easterly wind storm Monday.
